Tylenol Recall Update: FDA inspection uncovers the truth by Tech News


I wanted to share this important information with my community, blogger viewers, and twitter friends. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has issued a recall of 43 children’s medications available over the counter, issued late Friday.

The FDA is recommending that parents throw away any of the products having lot numbers specified on the FDA website. There are over 1000 lot numbers listed on the site. The FDA is suggesting the use of generic equivalents of the products.
Johnson and Johnson’s McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit in Fort Washington, Pa. manufactured all of the recalled products.

The affected products are Children’s Tylenol, Children and Infants Motrin, Children’s Benadryl and Children’s Zyrtec. The FDA has stated that an inspection of the McNeil manufacturing facility uncovered broken equipment, heavy dust and grime, duct taped pipes and a hole in the ceiling. The FDA also found product ingredients contaminated by bacteria, products containing larger amounts of active ingredients than specified, inactive ingredients that did not meet testing requirements and small metallic particles in some products.

The FDA cited poor quality control procedures and inefficient employee training as problems.

Johnson and Johnson was denying that consumer complaints had lead to the inspection and subsequent recall but the FDA states that over 50 such complaints were received concerning dark spots in some of the liquid medicines.A poor response to these complaints by Johnson and Johnson has been added to shortcomings noted by the FDA at the McNeil plant. This recall is specific to liquid products produced at McNeil Consumer Healthcare in Washington, Pa. and chewable products and tablets for children produced by Johnson and Johnson are said to be
safe.

Broward Teachers Economic/Career Fight!


Today I decided to share my personal story along with thousands of other Broward County Employees would are facing the most nerve wrecking and life challenging times know to Broward County School Employees. A whopping 460 administers and non administer positions has already been eliminated. Some of these individuals are one income family homes; some are single parent homes and the list going on and on…

The Broward County School Broad finds itself facing a 130,000,000.00 short fall and within the next couple of weeks 800 to 1000 teachers will get pink slips. This means Layoffs and pay cuts to hard working people!


The required cuts for the Broward County School System are the following:
Elementary Schools Principal must cut an estimate of $273, 00
Middle Schools Principal must cut an estimate of $492,000
High Schools Principal must cut an estimate of $809,000
The word around town is that Physical Education Teachers, Music Teachers, Art Teachers, Librarian will be cut to part time. Making ½ their regular salary.

Mental Healthy Living as well as Physical Healthy Living


I came across an article on Healthy Living by J Montana I had to share with the viewers of my Weight Loss blog because I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health.

When we are emotionally healthy, evoking positive emotions for reassurance has a positive outcome. Wishing good health for a loved one and acknowledging concern affects their behavior. For instance, warranting empathy by offering to pray for someone triggers a positive coping mechanism. However, when we give or receive negative emotional responses, the outcomes have counter-evidential effects. When we receive, a negative impulsive counter-blow, such as an insult, our brains create a notable imprint of the occasions. Whether or not we engage in an exchange of insults, the brain notes the negativity that we encountered. This process helps us stave off future negative emotional engagements.

Most of us can recognize emotional negativity. When we experience negative sympathies from a person, we learn to avoid the person in the future. Still, there are those people in our lives that get under our skin. We may have cast them out of lives to become healthier. Albeit, sometimes we wish they would catch a 24-hour stomach ailment that results in occasional underwear changes. We keep our thoughts to ourselves to keep from evoking negative responses in our lives. However, is this healthy? It may be unhealthy to keep our emotions bottled up instead of expressing how the person hurt us. Engaging in ardent negativity commonly promotes counter-productive behavior.

Exercise, Is Your Fat Burning Exercise Routine Keeping You Fat And Unhealthy?


This EXERCISE article by Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of “Fat Burning Furnace”. This article is full of wonderful information about exercises, workouts and aerobics that will put all the myths and scams to rest regarding losing fat (weight).

The majority of exercisers today still rely on long duration moderate paced aerobic exercise as their primary routine to burn fat fast. But recent studies have shown that this is a big, I mean big mistake. In fact, you could say that the whole aerobics explosion of a few decades past was one of the biggest mistakes in the health and fitness industry. Why?

There are several reasons, but I’ll focus on the two main issues here. When you exercise at a moderate pace for extended periods of time (as in the typically recommended percent of your target heart rate), your body is burning fat during the exercise. While this may sound good, it’s actually bad news.

This sends a signal to your body to keep a certain amount of stored fat available for your next workout. You’re essentially telling it that it needs fat available to burn, ‘because you’ll be doing this exercise again. So while we may be burning some calories during this exercise, after the exercise is over, our body begins storing up some fat for the next workout. Obviously not what we’re looking for in terms of maximum ability to burn fat fast.

The other big concern with moderately paced aerobic exercise performed several times per week is that it trains your body (heart, lungs, muscles, etc.) to become efficient. Again, this may sound good, but what is actually happening is bad for long term health. You are working only within your existing aerobic limits, without improving your aerobic capacity.

This is important because your aerobic capacity is what determines how your body responds in times of physical, emotional, and mental stress. If you reduce your capacity for work, as you do in this type of exercise, you’re reducing your long term health, no to mention a poor chance of burning fat.

The good news is, you can reverse these effects by instead focusing your workouts on high intensity resistance training, with workouts that last 15-20 minutes on average, and can only be performed 2-3 times per week.

These workouts will burn carbohydrates instead of fat during the workout, and will cause your body to use its fat stores to replenish the burned carbs over the next 24 hours, after the workout is done! This type of work will also increase your reserve capacity and thus your ability to handle all types of stress, leading to lasting health and fitness...and 24/7 fat burning. Nice!

But the exercise must be performed correctly to be effective, and that means using sufficient intensity, and keeping your rest periods between exercises and sets down to 60 seconds or less.
